Some will think that the word hobby shouldn’t even be in the same sentence as manly because old school thinking in reference to someone sitting a chair crocheting. But that thinking is not true at all by today`s standards. Crocheting is not really considered a manly hobby by today`s standards either but there is a lot of men doing it.It seems like it was around WW2 that things changed as far as what was considered to be a manly thing for men only. Before that woman were considered home makers. During the war though, all the men went off to fight and the women were the only replacements to do the work in the factories and support the war effort. Not to mention the fact that women took over the Baseball Federation during the war. Soon people of the world realized that women could do the work just as well as most of the men and great conflicts arose when the war was over and the men came home to get their jobs back.
So, just as women of the world have been sharing in the jobs, they have also been taking part in all the hobbies that were bookmarked as manly. For instance, 60 years ago mountain climbing was the manly thing to do and women were never even considered, along with Golf, Fishing, and Hunting. Nowadays it`s hard to find a manly hobby that is done strictly by men.
Not all men like to work on their cars as hobbies and fix the house of course. Manly hobbies are as diverse and unique as anybody else's. So, as far as I can see, the best hobbies for men are either continuing those hobbies that have given them the greatest satisfaction in their lives so far, or, if a man is suddenly at a loss of what to do with his time and feels bored or even depressed, he needs to find a new hobby that fits his manly needs.
It saddens me when I meet people who don't have their own personal "thing". Something they're passionate about, a hobby that people in to that gives them a unique identity. Something cool. Something Manly.
Surveys show that nearly 95 percent of men get fail in keeping a woman for long term relationship and it is only because of their boring hobbies. These results proved that women will judge a man by his hobbies especially if the hobby is not shared by the women or interesting to the woman or the hobby is taking time away from the relationship. This means the hobby should be interesting to, or include the women in order to be part of the relationship and make things work, be it a manly hobby or not. It`s important to have mutual interests in a relationship and keep the babe.
There are many manly hobbies that women find extremely attractive in men, if that`s what you’re looking for, and if once you project those manly hobbies in front of women then they will truly chase you your whole life. There’s just something irresistible about a man who takes risks, lives on the edge, and goes with his gut. These hobbies will be the ones that have you living on the edge all the time, so make sure your accident and life insurance policies are up to date.
Whether it’s Tom Cruise, who insists on performing his own stunts, Johnny Knoxville, who abandons safety measures with glee, or David Blaine, who tests his body and mind against the unthinkable, living dangerously as a hobby is downright very sexy in the eyes of a woman.
